FAQ — VEIN mining pool
How does PPLNS work?
Pay Per Last N Shares: when the pool finds a block, the reward is split between miners by their shares over the last work window. It's the fairest mode for steady miners and it discourages pool hopping.
How are earnings shared?
VEIN combines every miner's power to find blocks far more often than solo. On each block found, the reward (minus the 1% fee) is shared by merit: everyone gets paid in proportion to the work actually done in the PPLNS window (the sum of their share difficulty). A miner with three RTX 5090s therefore gets about three to four times more than a miner with a single RTX 4090. Your live share is shown in My dashboard.
Pool or SOLO: which one?
Pool (port 3040): steady earnings, shared on every block found by any VEIN miner. SOLO (port 3042): you keep the whole block if your rig finds it, but weeks can pass with nothing. For most miners, the pool is the best choice.
How do I withdraw my earnings?
A block's earnings show up at once as “maturing”, then become available after 100 confirmations (about 20 minutes) — an orphaned block is cancelled. Payouts go out automatically from 1 QTC (or 1 ERG). On Quantus you can also click “Withdraw” in My dashboard from 0.1 QTC. For safety, a withdrawal always goes to the address that mined: nobody else can divert your earnings.
Do I need an account?
No. Your wallet address is your login. Add a worker name after a dot (address.rig1) to tell your machines apart.
Which port should I pick?
The low-difficulty port suits 1–4 GPU rigs; the high-difficulty port suits large farms. Difficulty then adjusts automatically (vardiff).
Which coins are coming?
Warthog, Dero, Beam and Grin: our nodes are syncing and their pools will open as soon as they are ready. The VEIN Radar on the home page also tracks upcoming launches (Vela, Tenero…) so our nodes are ready before everyone else.
Are my estimated earnings guaranteed?
No. The calculator uses current difficulty and price; luck (effort), difficulty and price change all the time.
