How to Mine Bitcoin (BTC): Complete ASIC Mining Guide 2026
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, mined with SHA-256 on ASICs. On VeinPool the SOLO lottery pool also takes small NerdMiner and Bitaxe devices: the odds of finding a whole block are tiny, but real. This guide shows step by step how to mine Bitcoin on VeinPool, a French mining pool with a 1% fee and no sign-up: your wallet address is all you need.

1. Get a BTC address
You need a BTC receiving address whose keys you control: the official Bitcoin wallet is the safest choice. Avoid exchange deposit addresses for solo mining: some exchanges do not accept block rewards (coinbase).
2. Pick your hardware
Devices that work with Bitcoin on VeinPool. They are set up in their web interface, with no software to install on a PC:
- NerdMiner v2 — ESP32 (T-Display S3, CYD…) · loterie, no fee
official page - Bitaxe (AxeOS) — Bitaxe, NerdAxe, NerdQAxe · open source
official page - ASIC SHA-256 — Antminer, Whatsminer, Avalon · interface web

3. Set up your device
Replace YOUR_ADDRESS with your BTC address and rig1 with the device's name, then type these settings into its web interface (port 3600, or the one for your category above):
NerdMiner v2
Pool: stratum+tcp://veinpool.fr:3600 · User: YOUR_ADDRESS.rig1 · Password: x
Bitaxe (AxeOS)
Pool: stratum+tcp://veinpool.fr:3600 · User: YOUR_ADDRESS.rig1 · Password: x
ASIC SHA-256

Pool (PPLNS) or SOLO?
PPLNS pool: everyone's hashrate is combined and each block is split according to the work each miner really did. Steady income, recommended for most rigs.
SOLO: your rig mines alone; when it finds a block it receives the reward (3.125 BTC) minus the 1% pool fee. On a small network like Bitcoin, a single machine can find blocks regularly; the calculator shows your exact odds.
How much can you earn mining Bitcoin?
Earnings depend on your hashrate, the network difficulty and the BTC price. The Bitcoin calculator estimates them live (pool and solo); electricity cost is optional. The hardware ranking compares GPUs and CPUs.
Common problems
- No stats on VeinPool: check the address, port and hostname; stats appear after the first shares (1 to 2 minutes).
