How to Mine Zero (ZER): Complete GPU Mining Guide 2026

Zero (ZER) is a Zcash fork mined with Equihash 192,7 and the ZERO_PoW personalization: a block about every 2 minutes, 0.78 ZER for the miner, the rest going to zeronodes and the project fund. On VeinPool: PPLNS or SOLO pool, 1% fee, with miniZ, lolMiner or GMiner (--pers ZERO_PoW). This guide shows step by step how to mine Zero on VeinPool, a French mining pool with a 1% fee and no sign-up: your wallet address is all you need.

Ports

  • Pool (PPLNS): stratum+tcp://veinpool.fr:3690 · TLS: stratum+ssl://veinpool.fr:13690
  • Pool (PPLNS) · farms: stratum+tcp://veinpool.fr:3691 · TLS: stratum+ssl://veinpool.fr:13691

1. Get a ZER address

You need a ZER receiving address whose keys you control: the official Zero wallet is the safest choice. Avoid exchange deposit addresses for solo mining: some exchanges do not accept block rewards (coinbase).

2. Download a mining software

Miners that work with Zero on VeinPool. Only download them from their official page (links below); the fees shown are the software's own dev fee, separate from the pool fee:

3. Start mining

Replace YOUR_ADDRESS with your ZER address and rig1 with your machine's name. Command for each miner (port 3690):

miniZ

miniZ.exe --par=192,7 --pers=ZERO_PoW --url YOUR_ADDRESS.rig1@veinpool.fr:3690

lolMiner

lolMiner.exe --algo EQUI192_7 --pers ZERO_PoW --pool veinpool.fr:3690 --user YOUR_ADDRESS.rig1

GMiner

miner.exe --algo 192_7 --pers ZERO_PoW --server veinpool.fr:3690 --user YOUR_ADDRESS.rig1

On Windows, paste the line into a .bat file inside the miner's folder; on Linux, start the program with ./ followed by its name. On the Zero page above, the generator writes the full command (PowerShell, .bat, Linux, HiveOS, MMPOS) with your address and a Copy button.

Pool (PPLNS) or SOLO?

PPLNS pool: everyone's hashrate is combined and each block is split according to the work each miner really did. Steady income, recommended for most rigs.

SOLO: your rig mines alone; when it finds a block it receives the reward (0.776 ZER) minus the 1% pool fee. On a small network like Zero, a single machine can find blocks regularly; the calculator shows your exact odds.

For farms, port 3691 (PPLNS) starts at a higher difficulty: fewer shares to send, same earnings.

How much can you earn mining Zero?

Earnings depend on your hashrate, the network difficulty and the ZER price. The Zero calculator estimates them live (pool and solo); electricity cost is optional. The hardware ranking compares GPUs and CPUs.

Common problems

  • Antivirus deletes the miner: most antivirus software flags mining tools. Only download them from their official page (links above), then add an exclusion for their folder.
  • No stats on VeinPool: check the address, port and hostname; stats appear after the first shares (1 to 2 minutes).
  • Hashrate lower than expected (GPU): update your graphics driver and close apps that use the GPU (games, browsers playing video).

Zero mining FAQ

Which software should I use to mine Zero?

On VeinPool, Zero can be mined with miniZ, lolMiner, GMiner. The pool page generates the exact command for Windows, Linux, HiveOS and MMPOS.

Which port should I use to mine Zero on VeinPool?

Zero pool ports: Pool (PPLNS) → veinpool.fr:3690; Pool (PPLNS) · farms → veinpool.fr:3691; SOLO → veinpool.fr:3692. Use the PPLNS port for steady income, or the SOLO port to go for whole blocks.

What are the fees to mine Zero?

VeinPool takes 1% of Zero rewards, in PPLNS and SOLO, with no withdrawal fee. Mining software has its own dev fee (listed above).

Can I mine Zero solo?

Yes. In SOLO your rig receives the block reward (0.776 ZER) minus the 1% pool fee when it finds one; VeinPool's Zero calculator shows your odds for your hashrate.

When do I get paid mining Zero?

Payouts are automatic once your confirmed balance reaches 0.05 ZER. A block is confirmed after 102 blocks (about 3 h).
